Dal Fry Recipe
Ingredients.
Toor dal. 300 grams
Red chillies. 2 nos
Onions. 2 nos
Ginger & garlic paste. 1 tbsp
Cumin seeds. 2 grams
Green chillies. 3 to 4
Red chilli powder. 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder. 1 tbsp
Coriander powder. 1 tbsp
Tomatoes. 2 nos
Garam masala powder. 1/2 tbsp
Salt. As per taste
Oil or ghee. 2 tbsp
Coriander leaves. A bunch
Method
1. Put the dal in a pressure cooker add water , turmeric powder and salt. And cook for 3 whistles.
2. Till then chop onions , tomatoes , green chillies and the coriander leaves and keep aside.
3.Take kadai or vessel , heat oil or ghee in it and saute cumin seeds . Add ginger garlic paste, red chillies and stir fry for some time.
4. Then add onions and fry till golden brown and then add tomatoes add add some salt in it as per taste ( remember that you had put salt in pressure cooker also ) and fry till tomatoes looses all its juices.
5. Then add the cooked dal and then add chilli powder , a pinch of turmeric powder and garam masala powder and cook for 5 minutes.
6. Then turn off the flame and garnished the dal with some coriander leaves and serve hot.
